Snow Day 2013!

I'm pretty far behind, but Tulsa has already started getting their share of winter weather.

SNOW DAY!!
The day it started....

The next morning...

Andrew made one too.

I spent most of the time inside, but these two brought me some clean snow to make ice cream.
An ice cream delivery to one of our favorite neighbors!

Cold wintery days call for nice warm soups.  Over the coarse of these snow days we had corn chowder, chili and chicken tortilla soup.

Complete with the best tomato cutter. (It was a butter knife.)

We love snow days around here!!!

Cravings, it doesn't take much.

I've really been letting the cravings take over lately.
The other day someone posted a picture of the no bake cookies they had made and I HAD to have some as well.

Yesterday, I made this salad I've been craving a lot for dinner (very filling for a salad).  I'm pretty sure we've had this at least once a week.

After dinner we had a little family time on the couch to watch Bee Movie.  It was Hadley's first time to see it and she was zoned in!
While watching the movie I, of course, needed a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.  It was totally fitting for the movie.

This morning Jake and I both got our hair cut.  We were both in desperate need of one.  Jake hadn't had one since early July and I hadn't had one since Christmas (ahh!!).

Lookin' good!!

Hadley spent the day in her jammies, her favorite kind of day.

I tried to catch Hadley while reading during her education time today.  She had a little trouble with the C in cat. It's confusing that those Cs can say "s" and "k."  She'll get though.
Sadly its not picking it up as a movie, just a picture.  I guess there's a trick with the instagram videos.

Another favorite for Hadley is her art time!!  She requested finger paint outside today.  I'm all about less cleanup, so I gladly obliged to the outside idea.

For dinner tonight I gave into another craving.  I was talking to someone last night who mentioned making meatloaf for dinner.  I automatically put it on the menu for tonight and thankfully already had everything I needed.

Turkey Meatloaf Florentine
Lots of yummies in there: onions, red peppers, spinach...

I don't think it was Hadley's craving because she tried everything to put off eating it.
Unfortunately, this is what happens when you decide to do everything but eat your dinner.  You have to eat on the floor, in the corner.
Surprisingly enough, once she was in the corner, I didn't have to ask her again to stop, whatever she was doing, and finish her dinner.

We only have a few more days with Andrew before he leaves and its making me anxious.  It snuck up so fast I'm not ready for him to go.  =(  If you're wondering what we'll be doing the next few days it will be soaking up every minute we have with him.

This Is How We Do!!!

*V-DAY*

Hadley got to lead the prayer before her party at school.

Got her treats ready to go.

Dinner at Andolini's.  Hadley's quote: "That pizza is ginormous!!"

All ready for V-day playgroup the next day.

Then the SAA family movie night later that evening.  We watched Brave.

Part of the Norman crew came in for the weekend, so we met them for breakfast at Tally's... of course.
Throughout the day Hadley gave them their Valentine's, gave Addy her belated b-day present, went to the dollar movie and saw Wreck It Ralph and enjoyed some delicious cupcakes at Kupcakz.  After all that Cece and Aunt T took the kiddos back to the hotel to go swimming in the cool waterpark.

Andrew and I got a date night!!! We went to dinner at Hibiscus then went to see a movie.  It's been a while.

After church on Sunday we took them to the zoo.  We went on the train to start the trip.  Hadley didn't want to do the train so while we rode her and Cece went on the carousel.

Wagon ride anyone???

We came back to the house and let them play outside for a while.  It was a beautiful day in the high 60's, couldn't have asked for better.

Then we headed to dinner and dessert at Cherry Berry.

Then we went and enjoyed the waterpark again. (If you ever stay in a hotel in Tulsa with kids the Wyndham has an indoor waterpark.)

Hadley and I had a fun mommy/daughter day.
*Pei Wei * Ice Cream * Finger Nails

We went to Rogers for the next evening to help celebrate Pap-pa's birthday.

We made it back to Tulsa just in the nick of time.  We woke up to this.

Target trip with a quick stop in Starbucks for hot cocoa and a cake pop.

A successful nap and I didn't even have to work that hard for it.  She was just that tired.  =)

Hadley and I took down our V-day stuff and put up some stuff for St. Patty's Day.

Hadley and I made a trip to central AR for a baby shower I was helping to host.

Saturday night we enjoyed Big Orange for dinner.  (After an hour wait.)  The girls were getting kinda crazy in the waiting area, but the food was wonderful.

Sunday morning before church I caught this sweet picture of Pajee reading to Hads.

*I'll be posting ALL about the shower in the next couple days.*

After a busy weekend and lots of driving we were tired today.  Plus it was rainy and cold outside so the Hads and I cuddled up in my bed for movies.  Even Jake joined us.
It looks as though more winter weather is headed our way.  Here's to another snow day!!
