Saturday in a Nut Shell

Not a whole lot to say about today, so I'll just give you the bullet points.

Today I decided the Florentine & 4 cheese quiche I had in my freezer could be a nice little brunch for me and my sweet girl. Table for two please... (She actually liked them too.)
During Hadley's nap today 3 very ripe bananas were calling my name. When life gives you ripe bananas you MUST make banana bread...with streusel topping of course!!!
While I was cleaning up the kitchen I look up to find this...No I did NOT help her onto the kitchen table!!
Blowing bubbles while waiting for daddy to get home.
Tonights dinner brought to you by : Tally's Good Food Cafe
Frank is ready and waiting for little Trick-or-Treaters!!!!
Happy Halloween!!!

Cookies Make Me Smile...

I love Fridays, mainly because Andrew gets to come home at noon instead of 5:30, but definitely my favorite day of the week. This morning Hadley and I were pretty lazy and it was glorious!!
A spoon makes a smile and apparently so do cookies!
(Finally some PJs that fit!)
Lunch time...Yes, she's still in her pajamas. This girl loves some corn on the cob!
And a cookie for dessert.
After nap contemplating whether or not to empty out the cabinet. In case you're curious...she did, are you surprised?
While I was getting dinner on the table. It is rare that she actually sits this still.
Tonight's Dinner:
Turkey Tenderloin w/ Parsnips & Pears
and a baked sweet potato. Andrew calls what is in the middle of this potato "pure awesomeness butter."
*Sara Bell I saw where you were trying to do Gluten free foods this meal is gluten free! Well... the entree.

Quick wardrobe change before heading outside to play.
(She poured water all down her last outfit.)
Trying to talk us into some, "Num-nums!"
(This is what Hadley call M&Ms and/or Candy Corn)
The rest of the evening was spent getting our fill of quality time with Andrew, because he's got a big test Monday and we probably won't be spending much time with him the rest of the weekend.

Spook-O-Ween

Today was Spook-O-Ween at the school. This is a carnival thing that OSU's SAA (Student Advocate Association) does every year for the kids before Halloween. Hadley and I went up earlier today to help set up and then came back later for all the festivities with Andrew.

This morning, they had the JumpJump set up for all the kiddos to play on while the moms set up. Hadley was downstairs with some other kids in the JumpJump while I was upstairs hanging signs. All the sudden I hear Hadley screaming only to look down and see she's being attacked, yes attacked, by another little girl in the JumpJump. Poor Hadley kept trying to pull away crying and yelling, "No, No, No," and the little girl kept pulling her back. I started sprinting downstairs when one of the other moms saw what was happening and jumped in to save Hadley. She literally had to PULL the other girl off Hadley. I honestly thought Hadley was going to be scarred for life and would never want to get in a JumpJump again. Not 2 minutes later she was back in there, jumping and having the time of her life as if nothing traumatic had ever happened inside those 4 walls. (The little girl was with her mom on the opposite end from the JumpJump.)

Here's a picture of Hadley and some of the kids playing after the "experience."

After nap, counting the minutes until we left for Spook-O-Ween!
Hadley ate a crayon (green) for snack today.
Yesterday Hadley and I went to Reasors to get these flowers when Hadley pointed at a rose and said, "flower." I said yes this is actually a rose, in which she repeated, "rose." Today I put her on the table to get a picture and she turns to the flowers, points to one of the roses and says, "Rose!" Seriously she's brilliant!!! I'm just sayin!
Spook-O-Ween!
This child LOVES the JumpJump.
Two mommas with two Hadleys.
Our family!

Tonight's Dinner:
(Homemade Butternut Squash Soup topped w/ Thai Gremolata and Rosemary Foccacia Toast)

Just another day, Wednesday that is...

Andrew's mom (CeCe or Cecily) came in last night and headed out today to go to Austin to stay with his sister for a little while. Last night she watched Hadley while we went on a date and today we went shoppin! Hadley was in desperate need of PJ's that didn't come up to her knees or show her belly, so we took care of that. She also came bearing gifts...birthday gifts that is. My birthday is in November, but since I won't see her before then she brought my birthday present with her!!!
I LOVE my new slippers, thanks CeCe!!!
Hadley and I have decided just in the last couple weeks that we are going to make our Wednesdays "Go Eat With Daddy Day." The last couple times we have gone Subway has been the meal of choice, so I think we'll stick with that. Here are a few picture from our lunch with daddy and Cece today.
Hadley eating her sandwich like a big girl.

When we got home Hadley went straight to Jake's bed and sat down.
Our dinner tonight.
(Spicy Pasta with Sweet Potatoes & Bell Pepper Salad)
Hadley had Spaghetti-Os.
Our "after Hadley goes to bed" snack.
(Pumpkin Smoothie)
Now we're just chillaxin' watching my fave (NOT) Monsters Inside Me on Discovery Health, Andrew got to pick.

Shakin' Bakin' Tuesday!!!

Today was such a fun day for several reasons: #1-Today is Hadley and my baking day, #2- Hadley is so entertaining, #3- My mother-in-law came into town #4- Andrew and I had a D-A-T-E!!!

An example of Hadley's entertainment, with the glasses she got in her goodie bag from the Halloween party Sunday night.
Hadley lounging in her chair watching "Belle" (aka- Beauty & the Beast)
Today's Baking Activity: Halloween Funfetti Cupcakes

Can't forget the sprinkles!!!

TADA!
Hadley was also the official Cupcake Tester.
Yes...she put her face in it.
Yummy icing!
Like I said earlier, my mother-in-law came in today and it was WONDERFUL!!! Andrew and I haven't been on a date in a while. Tonight and this weekend we actually got to go out without Hadley for the first time in a couple months. If you don't count group dates we actually haven't been out, just the two of us, since probably June. We went to dinner at Charleston's and then a movie. We saw Secretariat and it was so good. What made it even better was we only paid $8 for tickets, that $4 a piece!!! We then proceeded into the theatre to see they had tables....WHAT?!?!?!
Next time we're bringing our dinner.
