Crafty Week!

Since Andrew was in finals all week the Hadster and I decided to take a trip to my parents. We thought it would help for us to stay out of his way while he focused on studying. It seemed to work because my BRILLIANT husband made 3-As and 1-B in his first semester of med school!!!!!! I'm only slightly proud. =)

Anyway while we were at my parents my mom and I crafted. My mom took off work on Wednesday and we made a pattern for an apron, which my mom ended up making while I worked on an outfit for Audrey.

We found this cute Christmas outfit at a craft fair for Hadley, but they didn't have Audrey's size. My awesome mom made a pattern for the outfit and I put it all together. (I still need to add the jewels and bow on her shirt.)

The same craft fair we got Hadley's Christmas outfit we found these really neat Christmas words. (Joy, HoHoHo, Noel, Peace) We took a mental picture and I made these on Thursday! I will be posting a tutorial later on so keep reading.

Weekend Update!

FRIDAY

Friday morning I was folding laundry and Hadley grabbed these "Mermaid" Pj's and wanted to put them on over her current Pj's. She did it all by herself!

Just a little confused as to how many legs are to go in each hole.

Friday night my mom came into town and watched the Hadster while Andrew and I went to see WICKED!!!

The only picture I have from the night was on Andrew's phone, BOO!!! (I forgot my camera.)

The show was amazing and of course I cried, because that's just what I do. After the end of the first act when they began to turn on the lights Andrew turned and looked at me smiling saying, "That was AMAZ...What's wrong with you??? ARE YOU CRYING?!?!" He got over the fact he was sitting by 'The Crier' and really enjoyed it as well!

SATURDAY

Saturday morning we (Mom, Hadley and I) went to Affair of the Heart at the Fairgrounds. We got some really cute stuff but also got some really good ideas!! I found more mesh wrap in Easter colors so I can make an Easter wreath this year. My mom also found some Christmas mesh that she liked. After going there we ran to Hobby Lobby and got lots of goodies for making mom's wreath and some other projects.

The Christmas tree shirt with the pants we got at Affair of the Heart, the 'JOY' shirt a girlfriend from church made. We also got some Christmas leg warmers that I forgot to take a picture of.

SUNDAY

I made this Christmas shirt for Audrey. The bow has a barrette so it can also go in her hair. Its hard to see in the picture but it says, "Santa's Helper."

Hadley's shirt is finished. I ended up going with the Merry Christmas iron-on, I thought it was cute.

I made this little shirt after we got home from small group. I was so excited about it I couldn't wait.

Overall I had a wonderful and very productive weekend, hope y'all did too!!!

Sew Much Fun!!!

We made button holes!!!!

So Tamra and I took a sewing class this morning. I thought I knew some basic information, but let me assure you I did NOT!!

What I learned today: 1- Because I do not have a Janome I am uncool (if you do not understand what I mean, then you are also uncool), 2- There ARE sewing machines that cost as much as cars and there was one in our class!! 3- Under no circumstances should you ever buy Coats & Clark thread, which is what I brought! 4- Sewing's much more fun when you name your machines....My Machine: Victoria, Tamra's Machine: Patty, The VERY Expensive Machine: Queen Elizabeth 5- A button hole can suprisingly feel like a huge accomplishment!! 6- We weren't the only people in the class under 75!! 8- Its always a good idea to buckle your sewing machine into your car to avoid it falling over while car is in motion. (we did this on the way home!) 9- And most importantly... next time bring snacks!

This was one of the most fun days I had in a while!! I laughed so hard I cried on more than one occasion and I am right now just reminicing about the day! We already talked about signing up for another class (quilting) and what's funny is I'm SO PUMPED!!!
