D is for Deals

I got my first Scentsy for Christmas this year from my sweet friend Ashley.

Well I went searching for some of the bigger ones for my living room.  For Scentsy you pay anywhere from $30-$40 (+ shipping) for a full-size warmer but I found this full-size warmer at Wal-Mart for $15 (as are ALL there full-size warmers) and my living room smells divine!

D is for DIY

No sew t-shirt Scarf

My first (of many) t-shirt scarf projects, in which you can find the tutorial, HERE.

Pottery Barn book cover idea.

 I tried to highlight how PB had them set up.

What you'll need:

Postal Paper and books with covers you're not just crazy about.  =)

How I used them.

D is for Dinner

Lemon garlic pork tenderloin, roasted asparagus and potatoes

D is for Desserts

I made these tonight and if you have seen them on pinterest and are wondering whether to make them, my suggestion is YES!!  You can find the recipe for these little yummies, HERE.

I had some breadsticks that I needed to use so I came up with these little yummies I'd like to call:

*Maple Cinna-Puffs*

Breadsticks, butter, cinnamon, sugar, maple flavor (not pictured)

 Stretch and twist breadsticks into greased muffin pan.

Melt 1 stick butter mix in 1/2 tsp. (or more) maple and pour over breadsticks.

 Roll sticks around in melted maple/butter mixture, let sit for about 15 minutes then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture and bake @ 350* until golden.

ENJOY!

The Projects Have Begun!

I feel like we've accomplished a lot over the last week that we've been home. But then I look around at my house and wonder, "Have I?" 

It's really no secret, but I must confess, " I LOVE Pottery Barn!!"Its unfortunate that most of their stuff is totally out of our price range.  

Well, I have some finds for you that are easy on the budget.

  A little personalization.  

My aunt got me the initialed soap a couple Christmas' ago and I think they make a perfect touch.  Thanks Aunt Lea Anne!!

Burlap Wreath Tutorial

So while home sick I'm keeping my spirits up by crafting.

And here is how I did the burlap wreath I saw at Blonde Country.

Items Needed:

Orange Burlap, 14 in foam ring, glue gun, 2 felt sheets, 2 buttons, scissors

Cut burlap into strips.

Wrap and glue around ring.

Still with me?.?.?

Cut some flowers from your felt.

I did 3 different sized (and not so perfect) ones.

Layer, starting with largest at bottom, glue each layer together and add/glue button.

Add your flowers to wreath and viola!

See its really not hard at all to be crafty!

Bow Holder Tutorial

Here is a list of your supplies:

I did a rough paint around the entire frame.

I also went with a more rugged prairie style frame.

Choose your corresponding ribbon.

Measure each ribbon to the size of the frame. I used the inner ledge, shown below.

Use hot glue to place your ribbon.

Top

and bottom

Measure your fabric.

I also used hot glue to attach the fabric.

If you're using a thicker frame you may also try a staple gun.

Almost there!

I added 2 eye hooks to the top and just ran hanging wire through it.

My plan is to replace the screw with a pink crystal knob as well as add three more to the bottom of the frame.

Fabric Canvas Tutorial

What you'll need:

2- 10x10 canvases

Fabric

Ribbon

If reusing canvas you will also need:

Mod podge & brush

2 sheets paper with atleast one side being white

Remove all existing ribbon/decorations from canvas.

Cut paper to the appropriate canvas size, 10x10.

Apply mod podge to canvas.

Apply paper (if printed, print side down) and let dry.

(My fabric was too thin not to do this. If you have thicker fabric you can test and see if you can see through it before adding these steps.)

Cut fabric into 12x12 squares.

Iron

Center on canvas

Glue opposite sides.

When glueing other sides fold in corners to give a more finished look.

Once both canvases are covered add ribbon.
