Food for Thought

Yesterday wasn't a super eventful day, but we made the most of it and it seemed to circulate around one common thing... food.

I discovered that yesterday was infact "Free Tea Day" at McAlister's, so we met Andrew there for lunch.
Apparently we weren't the only ones that new of this special occasion and were there with the rest of Tulsa.  We decided to just grab our free tea at the stand they had set up outside and then head somewhere else for lunch.

The winner for lunch is one of our favorites, La Madeleine.  To make it even better the weather was perfect for eating outside.

After lunch Hadley and I made a trip to Wal-Mart for more of the basic food items and then headed home.

About then was Hadley's snack time: nutella and strawberries on a rice cake.  She loved it and said the rice cake tasted like popcorn, ha.

I have a friend here in Tulsa that I also follow on instagram that posted this recipe on one of her instagram pics.
tomatoes, avocado, hard boiled egg, bacon crumbles, lemon juice, salt & pepper
Andrew and I actually ended up doing this for dinner and it was perfect.  Thanks again Lindsey for posting the recipe!!

Now that I've gotten a good amount of energy back I'm hoping to do more cooking and not as many frozen lasagnas or take out.  That being said Andrew's already called to let me know that he wants to take Hads and I somewhere tonight, ha.  I guess the cooking thing will start more next week.

I'm pretty sure Hadley's going through a growth spurt because:
#1- She's eating a lot more.  I cannot skip a snack for this girl.
#2- Oh my stars this kid's attitude. (I understand this may not all be growth spurt, but it usually does come in tow with most of hers.)

Well, that just about sums it up in the food department for us.

We Be Jammin'

Last Thursday we took Hads to see the newest kiddo movie, Turbo!  We haven't had cable for a while but she remembered seeing the previews on another movie we saw and has been so excited to go see it.

Saturday evening we ventured out to Brookside to dinner at one of our favorites, Hibiscus.
I never knew how much I loved Jamaican food.  I think I may need to start cooking more Jamaican.
Hibiscus fries, herb macaroni, jerk chicken

After Hads went to bed I was cleaning out the front closet and found a pack of glow bracelets. Andrew and I had fun playing with them and also played a game of Sequence by glow light, ha.

Sunday, we headed to Rogers after church.  We hit up 'Friends and Family' Weekend at Cabela's.

Monday in Silver Dollar City!!

My Grandma Hammond, loves her some coasters!!!  She doesn't let the fact that she's 83 stop her.

2 trips down the Lost River and 1 trip around Tom and Huck's River Blast.
I think they're pretty good and wet!

Tuesday, Hadley woke up a little early.  We had breakfast, she played in her room and then she helped Pap-pa harvest some of the veggies out of the garden.

Later that morning we went to the Aquatic Center and literally spent most of the day there.
Lots of sun. Lots of fun!

That evening I got to catch up over dinner with my bestie, while Hads spent the evening with Mimi and Pap-pa.

Wednesday, we did some Oliver shopping with Mimi, then headed home.
The storms from Tuesday night/Wednesday morning left a lot of damage in Tulsa.  Andrew's Med school actually had the roof blown off and there were around 93,000 people without power starting off the day.

This is what we had and our power was out for about 12 hours.  It could have been a lot worse. We're very thankful we only had a tree branch down.

Along with the branch I was also welcomed home with this top I ordered from The Copper Peacock.
Belly shot, HELLO!
(Note: I had just eaten dinner.)
*****
While my energy level is still high I'm going to stay motivated on cleaning out Oliver's room.
His bed is currently Hadley's bed (it converts to a full size, Hadley is not still in a crib) and what will be Hadley's bed is still in the garage waiting to be painted.  That task won't be on my "to do' for today, but probably will be soon. *sigh*
I did find some bedding that I love.
Oh Pottery Barn....

Bump Date: 17 Weeks

How far along:
17 weeks

Total weight gain:
+2 (according to home scale)

Size of baby:
Turnip

Maternity Clothes:
Not really attempting many regular pants these days, just sticking to elastic bands.

Gender:
It's a BOY!!!

Baby Boy's Name:
Oliver Gammill
Oliver- after my Great Grandmother Olive / Gammill- Andrew's mom's maiden name, as well as Andrew's middle name

Movement:
Feeling some movement.
Little man seems much more relaxed than Hads.  My first felt movements with her were more jolts.  With him they feel more like he's rolling around to a new position, then I won't feel him again for a while.  It could be that he's still small or he might just be more laid back than his big sister was.

Sleep:
Sleeping pretty well, other than bathroom breaks. I'm down from 2-3 visits per night to only 1-2 visits.  Laying on my stomach isn't impossible but it is getting a bit more uncomfortable.

What I miss:
Not much.

Cravings/Aversions:
Cravings: Spaghetti Os (I know), Polar Ice, grilled cheese w/ pickles / Aversions: depends on the day

Other Symptoms:
Still pretty tired and my belly's looking bigger... much bigger.

Big moment this week:
I'm having some increased energy this week and was able to clean some stuff out of Oliver's room.  Still not quite ready to arrange furniture in there, but making progress.

Weekend Update {Van Lear Visit}

Thursday evening Rachel and her kiddos made a visit to Tulsa.  Hadley and Harper haven't seen each other since Christmas, so they were pretty excited to hang out.

Friday morning Rachel broke out her hair chalk and did the girls hair.

Andrew got in from Poteau by early afternoon so we all went to lunch at Java 'n Juice.

Then we made a trip to Big Splash.  The cousins had a blast playing together, Lil' Bit was even trying to make a more visible appearance.
(Notice, I was getting shot by Hadley while trying to take the picture of her and Harper. I would say I took one for the team.)

*Twin Pic*
It's true... they're twins.

=)

We ventured out for dinner.  It's always interesting with 3 kids.

Saturday, Rach and the kiddos left.  Glad we got to have a couple days together.
Later that morning I went to Affair of the Heart, where I found tons of cute stuff.  Specifically lots of cute baby stuff, but we still have a few days before we find out if we're having a boy or girl, so I refrained from buying. (I did get a few business cards though.)

That afternoon we had an appointment to look at a minivan and left driving it.
I've been driving everywhere because with this pregnancy I get very car sick.  Hadley's seat is behind the passenger seat and since Andrew's 6'4 he had to sit at an angle in order to fit in the front seat. (Note this was in a crossover, not a super tiny car.)  Well, come January we'll have a carseat behind both seats and I think it sank in to Andrew.

I called a dealership about a totally different car I had seen on Craig's List and they told me that one was sold but then told me about another one.  We checked it out and it was seriously too good to be true and definitely too good to pass up.  It's not my Escalade (Hey, a girl can dream.), but its perfect for us and our budget right now!!  We love it and Hadley can't get over the automatic doors. (Honestly, I can't either.)

Fun in the Sun

What to do on a Wednesday, when its 100+ degrees outside?
We started by meeting some friends for a swim.

Had an early dinner at Joe's Crab Shack with daddy before he headed back for his rotation.

Hadley had her first crab leg and actually enjoyed it.  Sadly, that was short lived when she started having a bit of a reaction by the end of dinner.  We made a quick stop for some Benadryl at Walgreens before going home and all was well.

Andrew headed out and we had some friends stop by to play for a bit.

Today, we had a lunch date with friends and ran a few errands.  I actually started today by making my first gym appearance in 11 weeks, it was a bit rough.
I'm currently relaxing on the couch and plan to exert about this much energy for the rest of the evening.

Thanks for checkin' in!!

Bump Date {14 Weeks}

I picked this picture because my cousin is actually just a few days ahead of me.  So fun!
How far along:
14 weeks

Total weight gain:
I actually lost weight in the beginning so we'll just say 0 for now.

Size of baby:
Lemon

Maternity Clothes:
I can still wear regular pants but maternity pants are much more comfortable.

Gender:
Still unknown (hoping to find out in 9 days)

Movement:
Feeling flutters, but only when really still and on my back.

Sleep:
Sleeping pretty well but do have at least 2 to 3 bathroom breaks a night.

What I miss:
So far not much, I can still sleep on my stomach, though I'm sure it won't last much longer.  I did have a craving for a Rainbow Roll the other day, but raw fish is a pretty big one to avoid. :(

Cravings/Aversions:
Cravings: Spaghetti Os (I know), Polar Ice / Aversions: depends on the day

Other Symptoms:
Pretty bad sciatica (Andrew's OMM is coming in handy for that), still pretty tired and occasional headaches
Between the sciatica and tiredness I really think Lil' Bit is going through a significant growth spurt.

Big moment this week:
I have two.
#1- Finding Lil' Bits heartbeat almost immediately everytime I use the doppler.  HR is running between 150-160 bpm.
#2- My belly button is on its way out.  (That happened fast.)

I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow so this is a little behind, but hey, better late than never.
