Winning, Losing and Swimming

So after we got Hadley to bed Sunday night Andrew and I had a Monopoly challenge and I won!!! I was so pumped I just had to take pictures. =) Andrew was gloating before the game about how bad he was going to beat me and *BAM* jokes on him, ha. I pretty much put him away with those hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place.
************************************
Monday was a very full day. Hadley and I met with the girls for our P90X workout. Then we picked up daddy. He dropped me off to grocery shop while he took my car in to get what he thought would be a new tire. (Since we've been back from Joplin we've found 2 nails in our tires. No new tires needed, just patches.) After that it was home for some cleaning. I had some me time while I got my nails done and then we grilled for dinner.

While Andrew grilled Hadley and I just hung out.

I checked out my vegetables. I HAVE TOMATOES!!!

Hadley found a stick to hang out with.

DINNER:
Grilled pork chops, grilled veggies, and 12 grain toast

After dinner and putting Hadley to sleep Andrew challenged me to another Monopoly game. This one unfortunately ended with a different outcome, I lost. But he hasn't seen the last of me, mwah hahaha. ;-)
************************************
Today was beautiful and we indulged ourselves by going swimming with some of our friends in their neighborhood pool. (Which by the way is the BEST neighborhood pool I've ever been to.)

Love the bottom picture. Andrew told Hadley to turn around so he could get her back and that's what she did, ha.
Beach style entrance, whale tale that shoots out water and a bucket that fills up and dumps out on top of you, too much fun.
Snack break.
Despite her face in the bottom picture she was actually having fun.

*The aftermath*
Poor Andrew really did put on 100 SPF, but it was windy so he only has a few spots where it got on his skin, oops my bad. =/

After swimming we ran some errands and came home to prepare for the cookout we were having with the Owens at our house. It was pretty much the same meal we had for Memorial Day, but we added some steamed broccoli & carrots.
After dinner we played a little Mario Party while snacking on some chocolate chip cookies, yum! This summer has really gotten off to a GREAT start!

Weekend Update!

*SATURDAY*

We helped some friends of ours who were moving out of their apartment. Hadley and I "helped" by going swimming with Jessica & Baby Hadley while the boys moved everything.
(And by helping I mean we made it much easier for them by staying out of the way, right?)

*SUNDAY*

Our Sunday was vey productive. We went to Bible class and church this morning and then headed to Old School Bagel for lunch. When we got home I headed out to mow while Andrew cleaned his grill and Hadley napped. When the Hadster woke up we sat out her pool and she played for a while before we headed to Community Groups.

Our Community Group had a pool party and everybody had a blast!

Little Owen's first swim in a pool, he's a natural!

Lori, my P90X buddy, and her 2 boys.

Lorelei getting ready to go down the slide like a big girl!
She was a little stunned at how fast it was and took a little break by the blackberry bushes.

Hadley, my water baby, had SO much fun!

Jumpin' off the side.

Going down the slide!

Swimming all by herself!
YAY, Hadley!!!

Before we left she had to climb up the cool rock wall and go down the slide.

T.G.I.F. Favorites!

Thank Goodness It's Friday Favorites!
It's been a couple weeks since I've done this so I've included a few from last week.

Favorite Innovation:
A make-shift water table out of a large rubbermaid tub at CeCe & Pajee's house.

Favorite Safe-Room Moment Ever:
We were in Searcy with my in-laws when all the bad storms came through. The night they were to hit Oklahoma and NW Arkansas my sister drove down with Audrey. The next morning she went home but left Audrey to hang out with us so she didn't have to ride another 3 1/2 hours in the car.
That evening we had some storms roll in and we were issued a Tornado Warning. My in-laws were gone, Andrew was out seeing a friend and it was just me with the girls and Jake. I frantically run around grabbing every water bottle in site as well as nuts, goldfish, and both the girls juices. Threw them into the safe-room which is in our in-laws outer garage. Then I went upstairs to grab both girls (who I might add were both napping) tuck one under each arm and run trying to make sure Jake is with me back out to the safe-room. All this while panning my site for any random toys I could throw in there as well. A few minutes later Andrew gets home and brings in the computer as well as a DVD and we spent a good 30 minutes just chillin'. Needless to say it just rained and we were all fine, but I felt much better in there.

All-Out Favorite Picture of the Week:
All the water donations just at the Mt. Hope Church of Christ in Webb City, MO.

Favorite Hadley Quotes:
"What is it?"
"That's Hadley's."
"Is this ________?"
"Uh-oh, its a bug."
"Let me hold it." (In reference to someone holding it for her.)
"Bug in eye! Its better?"
"That's silly."

Favorite Andrew Pic:
Andrew's favorite spot in the summer, very fitting picture.

Favorite Meal of the Week:
I could eat this burger EVERY day, which Andrew actually did this week.

Favorite Mommy/Hadley Time:
In the kitchen fixin' up some dinner for friends.

Favorite Artwork:
Hadley's finger painting masterpiece.

Favorite Activity:
Lounging outside while Hadley plays her heart out.

Favorite Hadley Moment:
Found Hadley with an Oreo cookie face, but was worried because we didn't have any. I asked her what she was eating to which she responded, "Cookie." She then proceeded to hold up the washer and dryer unit that goes in her dollhouse. I then see an Oreo, to which she had shoved at some point into the dryer, that she is now scooping out with her finger and eating what remains.

Memorial Day & Others

*Memorial Day*

Hadley had a blast playing in her pool and I think had an all around great day!
(No idea why that bottom-left picture says February 17, 2006.)

We actually had planned for two other families to come over, but unfortunately both of the moms were sick. =( I say unfortunately, but Andrew was pretty pumped that all the meat was now left to him to finish off, ha.

*The Spread*
(Corn on the Cob (grilled), burgers, sandwich rounds, chips & cheese dip, and dessert was homemade Oreo milk shakes)

Andrew working his grill magic, creating the most delicious burger EVER!!
(Chuck roast meat (85/15), mixed with Worcestershire, shredded cheese, minced onions, McCormick GrillMate seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder, 1 egg)

*Tuesday*

We have a family from school that just had their second child right before we left for Disney World. We started the meal train off and brought Penne Pizza and Hadley helped me out in the kitchen.

*Wednesday*
It was pretty uneventful up until church. After church we headed out to our usual rendezvous spot, Cherry Berry, for some yummy ice cream with friends.

*Thursday*
Much fun was had today. I started the day off by meeting up with a friend for some morning P90X. We are committing ourselves to at least 3 days a week. We're meeting again tomorrow and then next week we'll get a full 3 days in. =)

After my workout we walked down the road to this little Java-n-Juice and Hadley & I both got a pretty tasty smoothie. When we got home Andrew went to the gym and Hadley and I headed outside for some art.

*Finger Painting*
*Finished Product*

We went in for a bit for 'inside play' and rest time, then it was right back out again although this time was much more glamorous.

Daddy grilled us up another fantastic meal!
(Grilled chicken topped with grilled peppers & pepper-jack cheese, grilled asparagus, and steamed broccoli.)
