My Sick Little Monkey

Well the plan for Hadley and I to just hang out around the house the next few days has come all too true.  Hadley's got a bug and has been pretty pathetic.

Since we got home Friday Hadley has progressively gotten more puny.
Friday night she looked like this.

Saturday it was this and she was consistently running 101*+ temperature once the Motrin and Tylenol would where off.

This morning we took her to the Urgent Care clinic where she requested to wear her Strawberry Shortcake dress.
She actually looks likes she's feeling pretty good in this picture.

We had been thinking strep throat since she started developing some spots on her throat Saturday afternoon.  When they looked today the sores were everywhere.  They told us it was oral stomatitis and the only thing we can do for it is Motrin, Tylenol, and a cold soft diet for the next 7 to 10 days. She also has impetigo around the outside of her mouth which requires antibiotic cream 3x's a day. Oh and she pretty much has to be quarantined until she's over it.  =(

It's crazy, Hadley has very rarely been sick but when she is, she goes all out.

I will say she's pretty excited about her new diet though.
Who could blame her?!

My child who never takes naps has been taking them religiously the past few days.  I love when she takes them, but I hate when she's sick.  =(

Sweet face!

Here's a little peek at some of her sores.  Seriously, they're all over her gums to the point she cries when we brush her teeth, they're also on the insides of her cheeks, roof of her mouth, tongue, throat.... Like I said earlier they're everywhere.  I hate it!

Needless to say there's lots of hand washing going on at our house.

Worst part of the day was when Hadley came up to give me a night night kiss and I turned so she would kiss my cheek instead of my lips, she started crying.  Breaks my heart.  The next 7 to 10 days couldn't go by fast enough.
Pray my sweet girl gets better soon.

Thanks for checkin' in!!

  3. Just so you know impetigo does not occur inside the mouth. This is probably herpes.

-Sores associated with impetigo may be mistaken for herpes, a viral infection. Impetigo spreads faster, NEVER develops inside the mouth, and is rarely confined to one area of the body. If in doubt, seek medical advice for an accurate diagnosis.
